Hello

Hi, I'm Blaise Butler — an artist and illustrator based in Kilkenny, Ireland. With a background in drawing, printmaking, and ceramics, my work is inspired by nature, Celtic folklore, and mythology and explores emotional narratives through character, place, and atmosphere.

My practice spans children’s book illustration, editorial commissions, public art, and creative facilitation. I have a strong interest in children’s publishing and am currently developing work for picture books and narrative-led projects. Alongside my studio practice, I regularly design and deliver creative workshops for a range of audiences — from community groups and festivals to cultural organisations — using hands-on making and storytelling as tools for connection and imagination.

Whether through illustration, workshops, or collaborative commissions, my focus is on creating engaging, thoughtful work that invites people into meaningful visual experiences.

I’m currently open to children’s book illustration opportunities with traditional publishers, editorial work, public art collaborations, and workshop facilitation.

For enquiries, commissions, or collaborations, please feel free to get in touch.
